The Campaign for SDSU

We’re feelin’ the Aztec Pride. San Diego State University’s first comprehensive campaign has raised $800 million to support students, faculty and academic programming.

Exceeding our campaign goal is a collaborative achievement shared by tens of thousands of Aztec donors across the country. Some gave to support our current students, faculty and programs. Others made financial commitments that have increased SDSU's endowment to $286 million for continued growth and development. Endowed programs are vital to support future students, who will trust SDSU to provide them with a solid educational foundation.

“The Campaign for SDSU was about more than dollars and cents. It helped us define who we are and communicate our aspirations as a leading public research university. Our entire community embraced this vision and engaged with SDSU in new and exciting ways through The Campaign. Our alumni and friends will continue to play critical roles in our future successes.”

Sally Roush
SDSU President Emerita

“The Campaign for SDSU is a launching pad for greatness. It has helped us move forward to become a national leader in higher education, and we’re not going to stop there. SDSU has the potential to make an even greater impact on students and on the San Diego community.”

Ron Fowler (’05 LHD)
Executive Chairman
San Diego Padres

“Our donors help SDSU create transformational experiences for students and allow us to facilitate programs and projects that impact our community and the world. Scholarships, research initiatives and community partnerships are made possible because of the generosity of our community of givers. For this support, we are grateful.”

Adrienne Vargas
Interim Vice President
University Relations & Development

Every gift is important, and each one signals a donor’s commitment to the university. At SDSU, we’re building a pipeline for philanthropy by giving current students opportunities to give now.

Engaging all alumni, including those outside the San Diego region, has been a primary goal of The Campaign for SDSU. Our alumni contribute by supporting SDSU financially, involving fellow alums and mentoring current students.

Parents, faculty and staff are among our students’ fiercest advocates. They understand the importance of philanthropy in supporting higher education.

Ron and Alexis Fowlers’ legacy gift of $25 million named the Fowler College of Business. It is the largest single gift to The Campaign for SDSU.

I am incredibly thankful, and if I can help provide that for the next Aztec Proud scholarship recipient, I will have done my part to further the program and give back.”
